Step in front of the camera for two immersive days of practical training, professional feedback, and honest industry insights! Whether you’re new to screen acting, or you’re ready to take your on-camera career to the next level, this weekend will uplevel your skills and understanding of on-camera auditions, how to get representation, and best practices for being a working actor on set.
Led by actress/director/teacher Monica McCarthy, with guest speakers including: casting director Sophie Pearson, talent agent Tom O’Sullivan, and assistant director-director Dallan Shovlin.
With limited places available, every participant will receive individual attention and tailored notes throughout the weekend.
Monica McCarthy’s acting credits include: WEDNESDAY (Netflix, directed by Tim Burton), FAITHLESS (Virgin Media), FINNEGAN’S FOURSOME (directed by/opposite Ed Burns, Paramount), FBI (CBS/Amazon), THE BLACKLIST (NBC/Amazon), THE NOEL DIARY (Netflix, directed by Charles Shyer of Father of the Bride), and MILDRED PIERCE (HBO, directed by Todd Haynes). She has also starred in several short films that she directed, including the award-winning dark comedy SURVIVAL JOB (NYC) and THE BLOW-IN (IRELAND). A veteran stage actress, Monica made her Broadway debut in the Tony-nominated world premier of Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies’ TIME STANDS STILL with Laura Linney and Alicia Silverstone. She’s performed across the US as well as the UK and Japan. Monica is also a multi-award winning director, screenwriter, and emerging playwright, and she teaches Fiction Filmmaking at ATU Galway. Sophie started her career working as an associate for Ros and John Hubbard, where she
worked on projects such as “Journey’s End” (Directed by Saul Dibb), ‘The More You Ignore
Me’ (Directed by Keith English), and ‘Time of Our Lives’ (Directed by Roger Goldby). She
then worked at Des Hamilton Casting, where she cast noteworthy ventures like “Hilma”
(Directed by Lasse Hallström), the Netflix sensation “Top Boy,” “The King” (Directed by
David Michôd), “Jojo Rabbit” (Directed by Taika Watiti), and “My First Film” (Directed by Zia
Anger). Since starting Sophie Pearson Casting, Sophie has worked on many projects
Including: “Vows” starring Sarah Parish and Eddie Marsan and “The Three Urns” starring Ciaran Hinds, Olga Kurlenko and Stephen Fry. Sophie is also working alongside Dan Hubbard Casting, on projects such as the TV series “The Gentleman” (directed by Guy Ritchie), ‘MobLand Season 2’ and “The Uprising” (directed by Paul Greengrass).
Tom O’Sullivan represents a broad range of professional actors including emerging talent working in Theatre, Film and Television.
Dallan Shovlin is an Irish writer and director based in Northern Ireland working in narrative Film. Dallan has worked for a decade as a 2nd Assistant Director across major film and television productions, where he’s worked with Ireland’s top actors. Dallan also writes and directs.
His debut feature, You’ll Never Believe Who’s Dead is currently in the final stages of post-production and is scheduled for release in 2026.

Development and Production Executive
With over 25 years experience in project and people management, Bláithín brings a rare mix of creative insight and strategic leadership to her role. She recently completed the Creative Heartlands Producers Course and received the Creative Heartlands Adaptation Bursary to conceive and creatively produce her short film Beneath the Quiet. She was also awarded the 2025 NTA Producers Mentorship and served as Shadow Producer on the feature You’ll Never Believe Who’s Dead, before joining Tri Moon Films. A published writer and professional member of the Irish Writers Centre, Bláithín was editor and producer of the Leitrim Guardian for over a decade. She has held senior voluntary board roles and brings a deep understanding of good governance, collaboration, and cultural leadership. Her background as a professional researcher, facilitator, and trained design thinker informs her approach to story, audience, and innovation in production. She is also an artist and current recipient of Leitrim County Council’s Big Sparks residency at Leitrim Hill Creamery for her project From Goats to Gold: The Art of Ageing Boldly.
Development Consultant
Matt Telfer began his career in theatre then assessed novels for adaptation for companies such as Celador, Euston Films, Miramax, and Film Four. He later joined the editorial team at Channel 4, working across a range of scripted projects. Matt has devised, developed and storylined shows for leading production companies including Granada, Lime, Digital Fiction Factory, and Buccaneer, with credits on projects for CBBC, BBC One, E4, and ITV, collaborating with a wide range of acclaimed writers including Naomi Alderman, Malorie Blackman, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Jonathan Harvey, Debby Moggach, Sally Wainwright, Jeanette Winterson and Florian Zeller. Matt now specialises in script development and ghostwriting. He also teaches and mentors editors/ writers as part of John Yorke Story, encouraging the next generation of screenwriters and storytellers.
Chief Creative Officer
Sam Atwell produced Northern Lights with Lionsgate, Deadpan and Potemkino for TG4 and ZDF. He was the Drama Development Executive for RTÉ where he was across their development slate and shows in production like Smother, North Sea Connection and Hidden Assets. Sam was the script producer and director for RTÉ’s, Fair City, and the inhouse Story Editor for the animation company JAM media. In Australia he worked in the theatre and screen, predominately for Channel Seven’s, Home and Away, as an actor, scriptwriter, script-editor, storyliner and director.

Roger Goldby), and Star Fish (dir. Bill Clark). Then as a Casting Director with Des Hamilton Casting, she contributed to projects such as Hilma (dir. Lasse Hallström), Netflix’s Top Boy, The King (dir. David Michôd), and Jojo Rabbit (dir. Taika Waititi). In 2023, Sophie set up Sophie Pearson Casting and has cast feature films including Vows (starring Sarah Parish and Eddie Marsan) and The Man With The Urn (starring Ciarán Hinds, Olga Kurylenko, and Stephen Fry). She also works alongside Dan Hubbard Casting on projects such as The Gentlemen (dir. Guy Ritchie) and The Rage (dir. Paul Greengrass).
Founder & CEO
Anna Mannion set up Tri Moon films in 2019. Anna and Sam recently co-produced the feature film, ‘You’ll Never Believe Who’s Dead’ with Wildcard Distribution and Fine Point Films. In 2022, she won the Netflix Women’s Producer Pitching Award
at the Venice Film Festival for Tri Moon’s series “The Girl and the Ghost”. Prior to this, Anna worked Script Development, Production Management, and Production Accountancy. Anna has worked on numerous award-winning TV shows for some of the most prestigious
production companies, including Tiger Aspect and Hat Trick Productions.
